| Details: | SUMMARY: Repeat samples positive Ecoli DETAILS: These recent results are repeat samples taken prior to shock chlorination of the storage tank. Mr. Gibbs was contacted. He stated that after the samples were taken the storage tank was shock chlorinated. The residents received a boil water notice on 10/3/11. Mr. Gibbs shock chlorinated the storage tank 10/4/11. The residents had been notified to flush there lines until they smelled chlorine. The system was to be flushed on 10/5. Mr. Gibbs has a chlorine test kit to ensure the system was free of chlorine before more samples were taken. I consulted with Betsy Perry in the Springfield office. We discussed taking a routine sample at the home with Ecoli detection and one more in the distribution system. We also discussed speaking to operator about regular cleaning of the storage tank. The system has had coliform detections in the past. I spoke to Mr. Gibbs about the routine samples and suggested he take a routine at the last house on the system to ensure the shock chlorination worked throughout. He was having the samples submitted 10/6 ACTION NEEDED: Wait for routine samples to show the system is clear. Boil water notice is still in effect until the sample results are received and negative results for Ecoli | ||
