| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform and Ecoli DETAILS: I was contacted by the water operator to discuss coliform positive routine and Ecoli samples. These routine samples followed last months positive samples. Corrective action is needed before more samples are taken. I asked operator to distribute boil water notice ASAP to all customers. System will schedule tank cleaning, valving and flushing of the distribution lines. Source samples came back okay. Positive samples are coming from the distribution. Operator did state that there was excessive air in the line and that it may be causing biofilms to be scoured off the walls of the pipe and tanks. On 1/25/12 Carrie Gentry sent me suggestions for corrective action. I forwarded the info to system operator. 1/27/12 I talked with James at the state about the boil water notice. I also talked with OAWU,Scott Berry about chlorination, contact time, turbidity and the boil water questions that have come in to our office. ACTION NEEDED: Chlorination of the tanks and distribution system, sampling following corrective action. | ||
