Details:	SUMMARY: Inquiry about status of Arsenic treatment DETAILS: Dan called to inquiry if DWP had been approached by the City on their plans to install a centralized Arsenic treatment system to replace point of use reverse osmosis filters. I oulined that we had received some preliminary plan review materials from the City but had not granted final plan review approval, which is required prior to construction of any treatment. I referred him to the City for specific treatment options being considered. He then asked about disposal of residual materials from existing treatment system to the environment. I mentioned that we have requested that the City contact Dept of Env Quality regarding any residual disposal requriements from their treatment system. Lastly, he asked about requirements DWP has on drilling his own private well. I clarified DWPs purview of public water systems of a certain size or user base, and requested that he contact OWRD for their requriements on any such proposal. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to refer questions or inquiries of this nature to the City. I notified City personnel that a call had been received. DWP to support Columbia County in regulatory oversight at system, for all non-plan review issues.
