Details: SUMMARY: Positive coliform 4/1/12 DETAILS: According to John a sample drawn in late March showed the presence of coliforms in the distribution system. He then pulled 2 more samples in distribution on April 1 and both showed coliforms present again. State website shows the latter as Specials. Doing more follow up on 4/8/12, John collected 5 more samples from the distribution system one of which showed coliforms present. State website shows all of these as Specials. I will request the state to show 4/1 samples as Routines and 4/8 samples as Repeats. Told John that I could not guarantee this would be changed. If not he will still need to collect Routine sample for this calendar quarter. Presuming the state would change the sample types, he should collect a Source sample from each well head in use, do public notice for unresolved coliforms and draw 5 temporary routine sample from distribution in May. I also sent John an example coliform sampling plan that illustrates the current ground water rule. ACTION NEEDED: Source samples from ea well, Public notice, 5 temporary routines in May. Notify me if any of these samples shows the presence of coliform.
