Details: SUMMARY: Positive coliform repeats DETAILS: I spoke to Warner regarding the positive repeat samples creating an MCL violation. He was informed about the need to supply a public notice and the need to take five temporary routine distribution samples in November. A new source was reviewed received conditional approval and brought on line several weeks ago. Warner is having difficulty maintaining chlorine residual in the system. Email from Warner: The original house that had coliform present now has coliform absent?!? And Ecoli absent. The two extra test houses had coliform present and Ecoli absent. One of the test houses had 0.02 chlorine residual. The two wells continue to have absent/absent as well as the same from the house bib in the pump house. Also the hose bib at the pump house has so much chlorine in it (going up to the reservoir) that the test kit reading is higher than the test kit is able to measure, I.e. it is a darker red/pink than the wheel can measure (more than 3.5) Discussed utilizing the circuit rider program or OAWU to help problem solve the issues. I spoke to Fred Kalish for some solving ideas. He suggested they should first try to insure the chlorine injection was functioning properly by taking a reading at the first user and if residual was found increasing the dosage and rechecking to see if the residual elevated at the first user. ACTION NEEDED: Monitor operator info regarding residuals in the system. Wait for public notice to be remitted. Survey system as scheduled wait for result of November samples
