Details: SUMMARY: December assessment at Springs 3 and 4 E. coli positive DETAILS: Hebo JWSA (PWS#00367) source sample collected at Springs 3 & 4 (SRC-AC/SRC-AD) on December 21st was E. coli positive. I spoke with Willard Anderson, the systems contact, about collecting the 5 confirmation samples within 24 hours. He is planning to valve off Springs 3 & 4 immediately. I did not see a combined source sample site for Springs 3 & 4 in the database, so I advised Mr. Anderson to collect the confirmation samples at the same tap. He also collected a routine sample from distribution and would contact the lab for the result. He mentioned maintaining a chlorine residual of 0.5 ppm, and we briefly discussed corrective action if a confirmation sample was E. coli positive.

For data entry: Since there are two sources entered on one lab report, I have asked DMCE to enter these results under the first source noted on the lab report. The source sample sites should be clarified with DMCE to ensure they are correctly entered. Please advise DMCE regarding combined source sample sites because they require prior approval.

We also received a result for a SRC-AE (Spring 5) which is not in SDWIS. Mr. Anderson said it was not physically connected to the water system.

Emailed this information to Annette and Melissa at the Tillamook County Health Department. ACTION NEEDED: Follow-up with water system on results for 5 confirmation samples.
