Details: SUMMARY: VOC Xylenes greater than the detection limit DETAILS: Xylenes level on sample date 8/8/2012 was 0.000780000 thus triggering a detection and confirmation sample.Clarification on situation: The system tested for its annual entry point VOC on 5/15/2012 with the sample results showing no detection of Total xylenes. The 8/8/2012 VOC sampling was done unnecessarily at the same time DBP were done due to mix up between operator and lab. VOC sample was taken in the distribution line at the "Cottage" from a utility sink that is frequently used for facility maintenance and motor cleaning tasks . (Page 5 of the lab results document the location of the sample site). All lab results were then submitted to OHA DWP. NOTE - The system has had 2 annual VOC samples with no detection. ACTION NEEDED: 9/19/2012 Contact Joel Haag to clarify situation. 9/19 Talk with Evan Hofeld.** Request the Drinking Water Program invalidate the 8/8/12 VOC sample and remove it from the systems data records. This VOC sample is not representative of accurate VOCs, nor was it required as a 2012 test.
