| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water Follow up Corrective Action DETAILS: I spoke with Dan Austin today to determine the status of the necessary steps required for corrective action of the boil water notice placed on the water system. The Circuit Rider submitted a report summarizing the following actions needed: Verifying contact time for 4-log treatment, inspecting the well casing extension, repairing well casing seal and pouring a new concrete seal at the surface, and providing better drainage around the well. Dan said the Circuit Rider reported adequate contact time necessary to reach 4-log. The Circuit Rider was there on Aug. 13th to verify what was done so far with the concrete seal/benonite seal. Dan said that a temporary benonite seal was working around the casing - good coliform results since installation in the spring. They are also working on the drainage issue by getting bids for a french drain - construction should be done in the next few weeks. I advised that the work be done ASAP since School is about to open shortly. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to Assess the problem, decide corrective actions necessary to resolve the water quality issue. Followup inspection needed prior to removing boil water notice. | ||
