Details: SUMMARY: Quarterly nitirate sample (post new ion-exchange unit installation) tested at 10.6 ppm DETAILS: Paul contacted me on Thursday afternoon 8/29/13 to report the quarterly nitrate sample for Fairplay Elementary School was tested at 10.6 ppm. Paul stated that the salt media had dissipated and was not replaced prior to taking the sample. Paul was instructed to get new media in the unit and take a confirmation sample within 24 hours. The result of the confirmation sample once the salt media had been replaced was 2.2 ppm. This will not result in a MCL violation. Paul has created a schedule to monitor the salt media. ACTION NEEDED: Conitnue to monitor quarterly nitrate test results. If they continue to be below 5.0 ppm the system wil be granted an annual schedule.
