| Details: | SUMMARY: Coliform present 7/9/13 DETAILS: Mr. Hickman reported by phone that he had notified users that boiling water is advised after repeat samples showed coliforms present again. I advised this was being safe and aggressive. I offered to email the public notice template for unresolved coliform, sent 7/15. We discussed possibility of a leaking line allowing contaminants into the system but he was confident that pumps were not running excessively. He had made an effort to elevate chlorine level in the storage tank to perhaps 20ppm for several hours and then spent time flushing the system. The chlorinator had also been turned up a notch in an effort to increase the free chlorine residual. We agreed that if the problem related to putting a new chlorinator on line and inadequately providing treatment for several hours that the combination of high chlorine over a extended period and flushing the system could make the lines clean. Expect this to be demonstrated in 5 samples due in August ACTION NEEDED: Provide written public notice within the month. Send state a copy of public notice . 5 temporary routine samples due in August. | ||
