Details: SUMMARY: Boil water loss of pressure and hauling water DETAILS: Phone call reporting wells not producing enough water for some time and water being hauled to supplement. Discussed need to boil water and haul water safely followed up with email as follows: Glenn, lack of pressure is a big deal. It is a concern that there has been inadequate pressure for several days due to the wells seeming to go dry and trying to haul in water from Coos Bay. The attached notice instructions should be met within 24 hours of the loss of pressure including sending a copy of the document to the state. Try to find a way to maintain continuous pressure at 20 psi. Turning the water off to let the tanks refill for the next day will perpetually keep you on a boil notice and your consumers at continuous risk. Maintain the public notice until you have means in place providing adequate pressure and a coliform sample at the lower end of your system showing the system is clean. If 30 days go by and a fix has not been found posting another public notice is necessary. With each send a copy to the state even if it reads identical to the last one. Posting a public notice does not make it ok to have inadequate water pressure. Violations can bring accelerated enforcement from the state. The website outlines some standards for hauling water. Routine sampling requirements remain the same for system. ACTION NEEDED: Post boil notice, review water hauling document
