Details: SUMMARY: Review lead issues, chemical testing and operations DETAILS: I spoke to Patricia on Tuesday 1/71/14 regarding on-going lead issues, chemical testing for the chemical spill in the water storage tank in Spring 2013, monitoring and testing for corrosion control and monitoring and testing for nitrates. With regards to the lead issues, I recommended she contact the circuit rider program to discuss why classroom 5 is continuing to test high even though the fixture was replaced with one that is ultra low-lead. We discussed decommissioning the sink in class room 5 and picking another sample site in the school. We discussed the need to file the appropriate paper work to change lead sampling sites. We discussed the need for two six month sample rounds results being below the action level. We discussed the need to turn in the PE for lead to me, which she sent. We discussed regular testing and report submissions to the DWP for water quality parameters for Ph and Phosphate. She was getting ready to submit the December 2013 report. We discussed the need to continue quarterly samples for nitrates for one year to show that the ion exchange unit was functioning properly to reduce nitrate levels. We also discussed the requirement to submit quarterly source samples for the chemicals that were spilled into the water storage tank in Spring 2013. The first quarterly sample was submitted in September 2013 but the next quarterly sample for the 4th quarter of 2013 was missed. She was instructed to submit source samples for the first three quarters of 2014. I supplied her with the contact information to the DEQ lab and discussed coordinating sampling with her contracted lab tech at Analytical lab and the DEQ lab. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to monitor testing schedules and system operations.
