| Details: | SUMMARY: Change in coliform sampling schedule, and discussed Stage 2 DBP locations DETAILS: Our water system database manager had noticed that the number of coliform samples required per month for the City of Lakeview no longer seemed appropriate because their total population had dropped. Once the population fell below 2500, our rules only require two (not three) routine samples per month. This coliform schedule change was made in the database, and I notified Ron Wilke. On the phone, he also asked me about the Stage 2 DBP requirements. The letter he recently received said to take a dual sample set at the "High HAA5" location in 2014 (as well as at the original sampling location). But that didnt make any sense because he had only had ND results for HAA5 at the Stage 1 site. After checking with other DWS staff, I explained that Ron needs to come up with a 2nd sampling location to fill in for the "High HAA5" slot required by Stage 2. I suggested that since he has traditionally sampled for DBPs on the south end of town, he should consider a location with the highest residence time on the north end of the distribution for the 2nd location. He and I will discuss and document the 2nd physical location once determined. ACTION NEEDED: Await determination of 2nd DBP sample site for Stage 2 sampling this summer. | ||
