| Details: | SUMMARY: EC+ Alert response DETAILS: Alert came in yesterday (6/17). Original contact phone # was out-of-date-- got the correct one from the lab. Learned that the lab had already spoken to the store owner and informed them of what they needed to do. Lab shipped out repeat bottles yesterday. Store employee gave me cell number for Jymme-- I left a message. Called the store again today-- spoke in depth with Stacy. Because the water system does not normally take their own water samples, I sent Stacy an email with the example lab form and explained how to record the required source sample versus repeat samples. Also briefed her on good sampling technique and avoiding problematic coliform sampling locations. Jymme phoned back later today and we reviewed the information and the best repeat sample locations. Also got updated contact information from her, which I put into the drinking water database. Jymme believes their EC detection may have something to do with the fact that the water table had been drained way down at the time of the routine sample - the irrigation had accidentally been left on for hours, and during a severe drought year such as this, the water table moves down quickly. The water system pressure may have been affected as well. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the repeat and source samples. | ||
