Details: SUMMARY: E.Coli positive alert follow up DETAILS: Received call from system operator Susan 7/1that 2 of 4 special samples e.coli+. Samples were taken in response to customer complaints of "particulates" in the water and what was described as "organics" in some areas. On 6/30, well sample and reservoir sample absent but both distribution samples, one from group camp and one from campground positive e.coli. Discussed with Susan and they immediately posted a Boil water notice at all standpipes, restrooms, kiosk, check-in. Discussed chlorinating reservoir and distribution. System batch chlorinated reservoir to approx 30ppm Tuesday evening and ran into distribution system. Then flushed overnight and began pumping fresh water into system. Made site visit again on 7/2 to check chlorine residual before resampling. Chlorine was at 0, so we pulled 2 temp routine samples from points adjacent to original positives. (see coli12974). one of two positive at the Yurt 3 spigot. Continued Boil notice. 3 more temp routines taken 7/3 (same location and upstream and downstream). All three absent and lifted boil notice. Hans from OAWU to make site visit Wednesday 7/9 for consultation/troubleshoot. Discussed with DMCE, Michelle and Kari to change original specials to routines to agree with SDWIS and link follow up samples. Copy of Boil Notice emailed to DMCE on 7/3. one additional temp routine was taken 7/7 and awaiting results. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to work with OAWU to discover cause of positive samples. A sanitary survey is due this year. Will discuss how many temp routines to take in August to ensure all absent.
