| Details: | SUMMARY: Water Quality Alert: COLI13108 DETAILS: Monthly routine sample showed the presence of total coliform bacteria on 8/4/14. Operator dropped off a copy of the notice she provided to all residents on the South side of North Bayside Estates to the CCEH office today. Operator submitted 5 repeat samples today to McCowans lab, 1 from sample point #76 that came back positive, 1 from 2 connections above this site, 1 from 2 connections below this site, one random sample in the system and 1 source sample at the wellhead. The operator states the triggered source sample will contain chlorine residual due to chlorination at the wellhead. Operator states the #76 faucet is difficult to obtain a sample from due to the way the water comes out. Operator reports she lets the faucet run for 5-10 min. before collecting the sample. She believes the sample may have been contaminated from surrounding bushes. She reports the bushes were cut back before the repeat sample was taken. She states the maintenance man is in the process of changing out faucets that are difficult to obtain samples from.Next month 5 TEMPORARY ROUTINE samples are required. ACTION NEEDED: 1. In the month of September take 5 TEMPORARY ROUTINE samples at scattered locations on the South side of North Bayside Estates.2. If any of the above samples come back showing presence of coliform please call the CCEH office to discuss follow up actions. | ||
