| Details: | SUMMARY: Water Quality Alert: COLI 13126 DETAILS: 5/5 repeat sample results taken 8/6/14 were positive for total coliform bacteria.Discussed need to check for contamination problems within system and correct any obvious problems. Operator reports chlorine level to be increased to 0.4-0.6 ppm over the weekend and 5 samples will be taken on 8/12/14 to check for coliform bacteria. One sample will be taken from the original positive site #76, one sample will be from the well, one sample will be 2 connections above site #76, one sample will be from 2 connections below #76 and one sample will be from a random site in the distribution system. Operator states if these samples come back positive for total coliform she will disinfect the well. Operator has notified the State drinking water program contact person of her plan. Residents were provided with notice regarding presence of total coliform in the water system on 8/6/14.Next month 5 temporary routine samples are required. ACTION NEEDED: Operator to call Rick Hallmark, CCEH Program Mgr, on 8/11/14 to discuss her follow up plan see details above).Early in the month of September, collect 5 temporary routine samples from random sites in the water distribution system to check for presence of total coliform.If any of the above come back showing presence of total coliform call CCEH to discuss follow up and public notice requirements. | ||
