| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on HAA5 MCL exceedences at 5 of 8 locations DETAILS: I spoke to Dwayne about the Citys Novembers HAA5 exceedences of the HAA5 MCL at 5 of the 8 locations. Rene, 30th, Sandy, Baker and 27th were all slightly over the HAA5 MCL of 0.060 mg/L. This is the first exceedence of any MCL for DBPs for the City. Dwayne indicated that 3 of 5 locations were at dead ends. I indicated that compliance with the MCL is based on a locational running annual average (LRAA) of the last four quarters. City has not exceeded either the LRAA or the OEL (operational evaluation level) at any site. We noted that some locations did not have a full 4 quarters as the City was on reduced (4 sites a quarter) monitoring until 3rd quarter 2014. City not aware of any increase in chlorination levels observed in their system. ACTION NEEDED: City to continue with 8 dual sets of TTHM & HAA5 a quarter with the next in February 2015, and calculate LRAAs and OELs at that time. City will ensure all samples are well flushed. City will discuss first time HAA5 MCL exceedence with Portland and other purchasers at next group meeting. DWS to follow up with City after February 2015s results are received. | ||
