Details: SUMMARY: Lead 90% vaule DETAILS: Three out of Ten Lead samples above the Action Level. Phone call to Terry, followed with following letterTerry, I spoke with Gregg Baird at the State and he agrees with me the following steps need to take place. We need a written request from you to invalidate the samples The State can invalidate a lead or copper tap water sample if any one of the following is true:1. The laboratory establishes that improper analysis caused errors--2. The State determines that the sample site did not meet the site selection criteria--3. The sample container was damaged in transit-- or4. Substantial reason exists to believe that the sample was tampered with. Things to remember about collecting lead copper samples:When collecting lead and copper tap samples, you must follow the procedures listed below:Always collect a 1-liter sample in one container only (e.g., do not split the sample between two containers).Always collect a first-draw sample from a tap where the water has stood in the pipes for at least six hours but not more than 16 hours(e.g., no flushing, showering, etc). However, make sure it is a tap that is used regularly, and not an abandoned or infrequently used tap.Samples should be taken from coldwater kitchen/ bathroom sites.Never take samples from Hot Water faucets. If the above was not followed in any way, please send me an email stating what happened. Once the samples are invalidated replacement samples need to be taken. remember this must all happen before the end of Sept., the sooner we start the better.
