| Details: | SUMMARY: VOC sampling from storage reservoir DETAILS: Sent email to Jan on March 18th about VOC detects of ethylbenze and xylene in water samples collected August 5, 2014 from the new 1.0 MG storage reservoir approved for use under PR# 134-2014. Received email from Jan on March 23rd that no additional sampling from the storage reservoir had been done. Followed up with a phone call to discuss VOC detects and concerns that there may be an issue with curing of the storage reservoir. The city is advised to verify water from the storage reservoir does not contain VOCs and confirm there is no issue with the reservoir post construction. On May 6th, I received an email from Jan with sample results collected on April 7th from the new airport tank. Low levels of Total Xylenes were detected. I asked if the city plans to evaluate whether tank interior coating had cured properly after construction or if something else was causing the VOC detect. ACTION NEEDED: Waiting for response. No action needed at this time. |
