| Details: | SUMMARY: Responded to complaint of taste, odor & particulates in water DETAILS: Received message of a compaint of taste, odor, and particulates in Huntingtons drinking water. Spoke with Jerry. He described intermittent unpleasant taste and odor problems, and sludge or sediment in the water. I explained that the taste and odor issues are aesthetic in nature, and are not considered to pose a health risk. The citys sampling record shows only one coliform bacteria detection since 2009. I also explained the city had been flushing some dead end water lines recently, which could possibly account for some sediment in the water. The reservoir is scheduled to be taken offline for cleaning and recoating later this year, which would address any sediment buildup in the tank. Jerry stated he intended to send a water sample of his own to a lab, and take the issues to city officials. ACTION NEEDED: none at this time | ||
