Details: | SUMMARY: Water Quality ALERT: COLI14483 CAMP REMOTE DETAILS: Left phone message for Gerrie King and followed up with email: Gerrie, I know you’re doing extra work to assure water is safe for campers. Please collect any samples you think will verify safety. I’m presuming the camp is closing by the end of the month. If you will have a camp group in September, the requirement is to collect 4 REPEAT samples and another sample as close to the wellhead as practical ASAP and then in September: 5 TEMPORARY ROUTINE samples. As I said in my phone message, if the camp will not operate after August 31 there are no logical rules requiring immediate follow–up samples. Take the samples you think are logical. There is a requirement to update the same public notice you did a few weeks ago and forward a copy of it to dwp.dmce@state.or.us I do advise another chlorine shock to the system. Flush out the chlorine soup if you have more campers. You want to avoid harboring organisms in a water line for months. It is much easier to clean now than it will be after months of harborage. As always at the start of a new camp season you want to do a SPECIAL sample and show the water is clean prior to your first set of spring visitors. I know camp seasons will likely continue a few more weeks. Let me know if you want to talk about what samples are logical at this point? ACTION NEEDED: post public notice - advise chlorine shock. | ||
