| Details: | SUMMARY: total coliform positive after positive e.Coli in the distribution DETAILS: Melinda called to let us know that the repeat sample for the previous e.Coli positive result came back total coliform positive. After consultation with the James Nusrala and Michelle Byrd, it was determined that a boil water notice is required. She sent me a copy of the notice which I forwarded to the state, and they will post as required. They will reverse call users, and post at the post office and city hall and will attempt to broadcast on the radio. They will hand deliver notice to users within the vicinity of City Hall where the contamination is and I recommended they directly contact any medical clinics. Marion County Environmental Health staff has been sent to make direct contact with the licensed restaurants and mobile units to discuss safe procedures. Department of Agriculture has also dispatched an inspector to visit the firms under their jurisdiction. The tap used contained a screen, so they believe it may be the cause of the contamination. They will increase residuals, flush and then take follow up samples throughout the distribution. ACTION NEEDED: Await sample results. Lifting the order will depend on these results. | ||
