Details: | SUMMARY: DBP Reduction Granted from Quarterly in 2015 to annual in 2016 DETAILS: I received a request on 12/7/15 from Kurt Krusick for a reduction in disinfection byproducts (DBP) sampling from 1 sample per quarter to 1 sample per year. A quarterly sampling schedule was initiated for 2015 due to a single HAA5 sample result over the 0.060 mg/l maximum contaminant level (MCL), which was measured at 0.0622 mg/l from a sample taken 11/5/14. This result required the Association to begin quarterly DBP monitoring, which was in effect from January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2015. Since all the results for 2015 were below the MCL for both TTHM and HAA5, the reduction was granted. I sent a letter dated 12/8/15 to the Association to this effect. ACTION NEEDED: Association to begin annual sampling for DBPs in November each year, with the first annual sample to be completed in November 2016 from the 2DBP-01 sample site at 1 - 39702 Burnside Loop. Violation history was unaffected by the 2014 result as systems of this size only need to increase monitoring to quarterly when a single annual DBP sample exceeds the MCL. | ||
