Details: SUMMARY: Follow up to well #5 PCE detect DETAILS: Spoke to Derick about the 0.0022 mg/L PCE (tetrachloroethylene) detect from 1/13/16, from well #5 contributing only, at the entry point of well #5 and #9. Value is above the detection limit, but less than the MCL of 0.005 mg/L. Since value is below MCL, City to continue to collect one sample annually during 1st quarter, with the next sample due in 1st quarter 2017, with well #5 contributing only. Well #5 is used once a month, for 5-6 hours. We discussed the hydrogeology of both well #5 and well #9, and that the City will need to include the detect in its annual consumer confidence report. ACTION NEEDED: City to continue on annual sampling of PCE from well #5, next due in first quarter 2017. DWS to discuss potential sources of detect and protection strategies with City during 2016 water system survey.
