Details: | SUMMARY: Copper Action Level Exceedance DETAILS: On 2/3/16 I received an alert for a Copper Action Level exceedance in which the 90th percentile for copper was 1.425 mg/l (the lead 90th percentile was 0.0040 mg/l, well below the 0.0155 mg/l MCL). This is an on-going issue in which the City is trying to resolve with soda ash treatment. HBH was on-site 2/3/16 to evaluate their corrosion control practices. On 2/4/16 I e-mailed Matt information on what to include in their Consumer Confidence Report for calendar year 2015. I instructed Matt to include the 90th percentile value for lead and copper from the most recent round of sampling in November 2015 and the number of sites that exceeded the action level, with results clearly highlighted in a table and containing the required major sources in drinking water and health effects language, and mandatory educational information on lead. Since copper exceeded the action level, I said he must also provide an explanation of the length of the exceedance, the potential adverse health effects, and actions taken to address the exceedance. I sent him our CCR checklist on-line at: http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/Monitoring/Documents/ccrcheck.pdf as well as a link to our general CCR info page at:http://public.health.oregon.gov/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/Monitoring/Pages/ccr.aspx ACTION NEEDED: System to include information about the copper action level exceedance in their CY2015 CCR as instructed above. | ||
