| Details: | SUMMARY: Update regarding disinfection byproducts DETAILS: I called Becky to receive information about disinfaction byproduct concentrations at the Lawson Acres water system. According to an action plan submitted in February 2015, operators were planning to reduce chlorine residuals, increase turnover in water storage facilities, and flush water lines occasionally. Becky stated that new feed pumps were just installed and chlorine residuals are set for about 1 mg/l which is consistent with previous residual levels. Becky did say they have flushed water in the reservoirs and increased turnover recently, apparently after the most recent samples were collected. First quarter 2016 HAA5 and TTHM results will indicate the effectiveness of the actions taken by the Lawson Acres operators. Becky said the board is considering connecting to the City of Riddle as a long term solution and applying for a SRF loan but no decisions have been made. ACTION NEEDED: Determine what additional enforcement action is necessary, if any, so that the Association makes the necessary improvements at the Lawson Acres system. | ||
