Details: SUMMARY: Loss of Pressure, Pump Replacement DETAILS: Received a call from Julie Put, resort manager of the Bend 1000 Trails R.V. park water system to discuss correct actions to follow after a water well pump replacement. The park knew the pump was failing and warned guests to fill up their R.V. water tanks. Well pump being replaced today. They have provided water to flush toilets in rental Yurts. Park has closed down the pools, spa, and food service until corrected. The system has removed the 36K gallon reservoir [noted on 6/2012 survey] and the park is floating on the pressure from the well pump. ACTION NEEDED: Discussed the requirment to keep the system sanitary by flushing some chlorine through the line after the repair. Need to post boil water notice. Template sent via email. After repair, raise the free chlorine to minimum 10 ppm and open all taps till chlorine is smelled. Let chlorinated water sit in distribution piping for 24 hours. Drain chlorinated water. Verify no chlorine with test kit. After no chlorine detected, collect 3 water samples to send to water lab for coliform test. Label sample bottles as SPECIAL. I also emailed Service Outage and Disinfection proceedure handouts to the facility. Once Special samples come back with no coliform, remove boil water notices and resume life as usual. Continue quarterly coliform sampling routine.
