Details:	SUMMARY: Boil water due to E. coli result on PWB intertie DETAILS: At least two samples were drawn Wednesday 1. before opening emergency intertie of Milwaukie with Portland Water Bureau, and 2. Six (6) hours later after 7,000 gallons passed into Milwaukies distribution system. The first sample result was TC+, the second was E. coli positive. A total of 30,000 gallons were used before the intertie was closed when lab results indicated contamination. While it was likely only a portion of the distribution system was affected, the entire city had to boil its water. More recent flushing as well as sampling chlorine residual and coliform the previous day before use may have prevented this event. ACTION NEEDED: A modified Level 1 investigation must be done by Milwaukie operators. Submit to this office. Boil order was lifted before 12n Friday, Veterans Day (i.e., holiday) after 6-8 repeat coliform samples results were negative.
