Details: SUMMARY: November HAA5 over MCL DETAILS: I contacted Don today about the november quarterly DBP results showing HAA5s over the MCL. Compliance with the MCL is based on a locational running annual average (LRAA) which is still under the MCL so the system is in compliance, however the Operational Evaluation Level for HAA5 was exceeded which requires the system to do an operational evaluation and submit a report within 90 days. The operational evaluation is designed to help identify causes of high DBPs and strategies to lower DBPs prior to next quarters sampling so that LRAA MCL is not exceeded. ACTION NEEDED: Submit operational evaluation report to OHA-DWS within 90 days. UPDATE: OEL report received 1/10/17. Issues with source, treatment, distribution, and storage identified as possible contributing factors. Identified better management of chlorine residual and adding mixer to tank as management strategies.

Associated Alerts: CHEM7391 - 11/14/2016 - TOTAL HALOACETIC ACIDS (HAA5)
