Details: SUMMARY: DBP TTHM DETAILS: Bandon Coastal Dunes recorded a DBP TTHM reading of .08ppm on their 7.15.2015 test. The high reading came from the residential units, which are two to three miles away from the storage tank. I spoke with Mr. Felton regarding the chem alert for high trihalomethanes. The sample came from the housing complex that is "2 to 3 miles" away from the storage tanks. Samples from the lodge have a lower residency time, and were below the MCL. It appears that the additional time spent in the long run of 6" diameter water main is sufficient to allow the formation of excess DBPs. ACTION NEEDED: Increased sampling frequency, from yearly to quarterly. The next test should be in mid October. Flush the line between the storage tank and the housing complex.
