| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil water notice - loss of pressure DETAILS: Bob called to update me on the boil water notice issued Monday 1/16 due to a fairly large leak in the distribution system. An estimated 15-18 gal/min leak is occuring in a certain area, and with the concern for back-siphonage due to the loss in pressure, a boil notice was issued. Attempts have been made to identify certain area and fix leaks, and a contractor will arrive with equipment on Friday 1/20, to continue the work and install additional valves to better isolate the system. System currently rationing water to 3 hours in morning and 3 in evening as it is hard to treat water through filters with the recent storms and high raw water turbidity. System draining 50,000 gal tank to provide limited water service. ACTION NEEDED: Association to follow DWS management practice to fix leaks, restore service pressure above 20 psi, flush, ensure adequate chlorine residual, and collect a coliform sample prior to consulting with DWS to lift the boil water notice. Provided DWS after hours phone number to Bob. 2/3/17 update: Bob indicated leak fixed, pipes replaced, area flushed, service pressures and chlorine residuals up, and clean coliform sample obtained-boil water notice lifted and residents notified. | ||
