Details: SUMMARY: CONTACT TRACER STUDY DETAILS: The US Forest Service owns and operates a surface water system at the Steamboat Springs Work Center, east of Glide in Douglas County. The system provides water for the work center and adjacent park. Water from the North Umpqua River is treated by a packaged water treatment plant. The plant has a flocculation and settling prior to multimedia filtration. Disinfection is provided through the addition of sodium hypochlorite. The USFS contractor contacted the Circuit Rider to assist with a contact tracer study. Completed contact tracer study methodology. Traveled to system to collect tracer testing data. During the data collection, the controls for the water treatment plant lost power. Therefore, data collection will need to occur at a later date. ACTION NEEDED: Perform tracer testing and complete report.
