Details:	SUMMARY: WTP Backwash Support DETAILS: The Timber Water Association treats water with two green sand filters providing pre-filtration and membranes providing the primary filtration. Chlorine is then added to the finished water before it is pumped into the distribution system and storage reservoirs. Currently the operators do not have a source of filtered water to use to backwash the green sand filters. Operators currently backwash with raw water, which, aside from being a poor media for backwash, also does not have the flow required to property backwash the filters.Met with Chris Heidt onsite to look at the plant. A technical report was prepared on March 20 recommending that a connection be made through a reduced pressure backflow prevention device to backwash the green sand filters with finished water. ACTION NEEDED: Discuss with Gregg Baird whether or not this needs to have a design and review to make this connection.
