Details: SUMMARY: Nitrate MCL Alert Follow Up DETAILS: Both nitrate samples 7/14 above the MCL. Spoke with Kodiak and new park manager took sample for Well #1 pre-treatment rather than from the treated sample tap. This explains the high result for well #1, but well #2 was also high (12.5) despite the last two results of 2.8 and ND. Well #2 has had high results historically, 12.4, 6.7, 9.8 within the last 2 yrs. but seemed to lessen recently. Nitrate treatment was installed March 2017, but only for well #1. ACTION NEEDED: Take a confirmation sample from well #2 asap and results will be averaged to dictate further action. Take a post treatment replacement sample from well #1. If average of confirmation sample and original from well #2 is above MCL treatment will be required. If average under the MCL, quarterly sample for 1 year to monitor results.
