| Details: | The operator informed me that he received verbal notification from the lab that the results for two of the repeat samples collected on 6.10.22 came back E. Coli positive and TC positive. The RP sample collected at the kitchen faucet tested E. Coli. The upstream RP sample tested TC positive. The triggered sample at the well and the downstream RP sample were both negative for E. Coli and total coliform. After collecting the repeat samples the system was shocked with chlorine.
Next Steps:
- Bill was instructed to post a boil water notice. A template was provided via email. Bill will email me a copy of the public notice with the date posted. The boil notice will remain in place until a follow up sample can demonstrate absence of coliform contamination.
- Before collection a follow up sample, the system will test the water to ensure levels of chlorine in the distribution are back to normal. for this system the normal chlorine level is cero.
- System must develop a coliform sampling plan. A template was provided via email. Bill will email me a copy of the plan for revision and approval.
- A level two coliform investigation will be coordinated with Bill.
Lifted 06/16/2022: The system collected two special samples on 06.14.22. The test results for both samples showed absence of coliform contamination. The boil water was lifted on 06.16.2022. The system will continue with their routine coliform sampling schedule to ensure the issue is resolved. Next step: Complete a level 2 coliform investigation. |
