| Details: | Craig contacted via phone to inform me that the City has issues a boil water advisory due to a total loss of pressure that affected 18 homes connected to the Hilltop Pump station. The area affected corresponds to the majority of SE Hilltop Drive and all of SE Hilltop View.
Staff are hand delivering Boil Water advisory notices to the affected homes and have shut off water services in the impacted area.
Next steps: Once the pump station is repaired, the water main will be flushed. After this, staff will be turning on the customers water services and flushing their lines out to a faucet on the front side of each house. Staff will then be pulling water samples from several locations and expect to receive sample results within 24 hours.
There are no RV parks, restaurants, or lodging facilities affected. Customers affected are all single-family residences. At this point no customers with limited English proficiency have been identified, but staff has been made aware of this and will make accommodations as necessary. Josephine county public health has been notified of the issue and are prepared to answer any questions that aren’t directed to the water systems contact person. Lifted 04/26/2023: Craig reported that the lab results for the water samples collected yesterday came back absent of bacterial contamination. The system will be hand delivering notices letting customers know the boil water advisory is being lifted today. No further actions needed at this time. |
