Details: | Jeff called to report a high turbidity event caused by a heavy rain/storm event last night. The storm caused high turbidity in their creek source water and in the finished water. The water treatment plant alarm did not function properly causing some finished water with turbidity as high as 5 NTU to enter the system for 3 hours (~2700 gallons). The water system plans to fix the alarm at the treatment plant, backwash the filters, increase chlorine concentration to shock chlorinate the system, flush the system and then collect a coliform bacteria sample on Monday. If the coliform bacteria sample result is absent, the boil water advisory can be lifted. Lifted 12/05/2023: Milo Academy took 5 coliform samples on 12/4/2023 and received clear results the next day. |
