Details: | Yesterday 2/17/25 at approximately 12pm the City of Newberg depressurized a section of 8” mainline due to major flooding and potential property damages caused by a broken mainline valve. This affected approximately 36 residences on Brandon Dr, Brittney Dr, Nathan Dr and Brook Dr. At approximately 8pm the City of Newberg issued a boil water notice to affected residents on Brandon Dr, Brittney Dr, Nathan Dr and Brook Dr.
At approximately 9pm the City of Newberg had the valve replaced and started directional flushing the affected water mainlines. The City continued to flush the affected mainline and faucets until approximately 10pm when the city tested chlorine and took a water sample at 408 Nathan Dr from an outdoor Facet. The water sample was sent to the lab for bacteria testing last night and the expect to receive the results back by Wednesday 2/19/2025. City staff went door to door with handouts for boil water as a precaution before turning water back on to residents and the notice has been posted on the City’s website for the affected area.
Lifted 02/19/2025: Test results came back absent of coliform bacteria and after consultation with Adam Claussen, the advisory was allowed to be lifted at 11:45 am. |
