| Details: | All 4 repeat/triggered samples taken 8/6 tc+ and one from site #17 E.coli+. Contacted USFS and Deschutes Recreation and system is shut down and no water available since 2pm Wednesday 8/7. System will investigate, chlorinate, flush and resample. I will make site visit and complete level II investigation. System (8 camp hydrant/faucets) will remain off until samples show absent of coliforms. Water is off and standpipes are bagged and wrapped and signed "contaminated water, water system will be shut down until resolved". Update 09/13/2019: Spoke with Mike Krawczyk (541-382-5627) with the U.S. Forest Service about the water quality issues at the campground. The possible causes for coliform are still be assessed. After chlorinating and flushing the system, a sample at the host site was still total coliform positive, so the water system will be re-chlorinated overnight tonight and flushed over the weekend. Follow-up samples will be collected on Monday. Mike will notify me when the sample results are available. The boil water advisory and shut down of the water system will remain in effect until samples are coliform absent. - M. Byrd, DWS Portland Lifted 09/19/2019: Chris Howerton (559-676-0224) with the California Land Management (CLM) Services who manages the USFS Lava Lake Campground facility contacted me on behalf on Mike Krawczyk. After further shock chlorination and flushing efforts, the samples collected in the campground were coliform absent. The advisory is now lifted.
