Details: | All three repeats and triggered samples following 8/5/19 routine TC+ and same site as original #17 E.coli +. Bob called me at approximately 1:40pm to inform of the positive E.coli. I called Bob back as well as Mike and Jaimie with USFS and discussed need to either turn water off so unavailable to campers or issue and post a boil water notice at entrance and all hydrants. USFS policy is to turn water off and Bob said his staff was on way to campground to turn off at approximately 2pm. He will post signage of "contaminated water - water will be off until corrected" and bag all the faucets (8) plus one at Little lava Lake. I emailed Bob, Mike and Jaimie boil water template as well as recommended chlorination instructions. System will need to take follow up special samples to ensure absent of bacteria before re-opening. Ensure no more residual chlorine before taking specials from well, distribution and Little Lava. A survey was conducted at this system yesterday (8/6) and the wellhead appeared to be sealed with no obvious entry points for contamination. Well house did show signs of rodent activity and recommended to clean and seal well house to preclude rodents and insects. | ||
