Details: | Contacted operator of Pinewood Mobile Manor about a triggered E. Coli sample from both the spring source and the spring house. Also notified her to issue a do not drink water notice to the residents at the park until further verification that the system is clear of coliform. The do not drink notice was decided, due to the fact that a boil water notice could confuse residents as there has already been a notice to not drink the water due to nitrates in the system. The operator was notified to collect 5 samples at the source within 24 hours and to notify the state of the notice that was issued to the residents. A level 2 investigation has also been issued and a date will be scheduled soon. Update 02/28/2020: The water operator of Pinewood Mobile has confirmed with their 5 source samples taken on Wednesday that there is a fecal coliform contamination. There was 4 total coliform positives and 1 e-coli positive. The system is in the process of disconnecting the system and providing an alternative source with the installation of their new well which is on an administrative order to be completed by May 31, 2020. Lifted 06/09/2020: I spoke to Jane Ranslam this morning. The spring source has been disconnected from the system and the well is serving water. Well water tested 5/18 was absent for coliform and nitrate non-detect. Residents have been informed of lifted advisory and instructed to flush premise piping. - M. Byrd, DWS |
