Details: | The City of Gold Hill, a community water system located in Jackson County with 580 connections that serves a population of 1284 people reports an unanticipated loss of pressure affecting approximately 300 residents this afternoon at approximately 12:30 PM. Public Works Director Mike Bollweg advises that historical inaccuracies in system mapping allowed a water valve to be exercised that led to loss of pressure in one of the city’s three looped service connections. Affected residents were notified by water system employees, media reporting and by Jackson County Emergency Services via text messaging. Bollweg anticipates that water pressure will be restored later this evening, and water samples will be taken after the city flushes the affected lines. Lifted 04/14/2021: The City has completed repairs and sampling associated with affected lines have tested negative for coliform. Affected residents have been notified of lifted boil advisory by the City. |
