Details: 06.23.21 - Leo Rainwater reported that the UV malfunctioned. He inquired about operating the system with the UV off line. Without the UV the system would have to achieve 1.0 log giardia inactivation through chlorination at all times and LT2 source water testing may be required as the UV previously allowed for max treatment (5.5 Log removal/inactivation of crypto). UV is back online. 06.22.21 - Yvonne contacted me to informed that the system will post a boil water notice today. At 10:30 p.m. last night Steve reported to Jacobs Engineering issues with water discoloration and low pressure. This morning around 8:00 a.m. there was no water in the distribution system and the 75,000 gallon reservoir was also empty. The operator reported that yesterday evening there was approximately 19 Ft of water (60,000 gal) left in the reservoir. The Water system staff is currently trying to identify the water went. They are troubleshooting the flow valves to determine if the issue has to do with a failure in the backwash system, a leak in the distribution, or a leak directly under the reservoir. The plant is only filling the tank. The distribution valve is isolated. No water is being served to the customers. A boil water notice will be posted today. The notice will remain in place until the system can resolve the issue. I advised Yvonne to collect coliform water samples before resuming water service to operator, flush hydrants and leave instructions for customers on flushing.

Lifted 06/26/2021:  06.26.21 - I spoke with Steve over the phone. The issue that caused the pressure loss has been corrected. The plant is back online. Distribution lines have been flushed and the 3 coliform samples collected in the distribution system came back absent of total coliforms and E.Coli. Leo Rainwater with Jacobs Engineering will send me an email with more details on the corrective actions taken.
