Details: | I spoke to Jamon yesterday regarding shock chlorinating the system. I also spoke to Shawn Stevenson in the Springfield office. The recommendation was to shock chlorinate the storage tank and the well. Because the active well only produces .25 gallon per minute, once the system is flushed they we need to have water delivered. Jamon is aware of the hauling guidelines. The hauled water is from the City of Philomath which is as surface water system. Jamon understands they must maintain at least a .2 ppm residual in the system when the surface water is introduced. The school has purchased a chlorine test kit. I am scheduled for a Level 2 investigation on 10/3/18. Regardless of the investigation outcome the schools TC+ results over time will require by rule that chlorine be installed for residual maintenance. A new well has been installed that is under plan review. A plan review for chlorination will need to be submitted. We discussed dosing the storage tank to maintain at least .2 ppm from this point forward until the chlorination system has been reviewed and installed. We also discussed not waiting for me to call and give them direction on shock chlorination or other remediation. I will continue to work with them to get sound operation processes in place to help them make their own informed decisions. |
