| Details: | Pete Farrelly from DWS told me that since Western Hills is able to achieve proper CT (chlorine concentration X contact time) for 4-log inactivation of viruses, the boil water notice may be lifted. I spoke with Robert Trotter, who has chosen to wait for the recent coliform sample results (predicted to be determined this morning) to come back as negative first before lifting the boil notice. Pete determined with Robert that the system has over 1,000 feet of 4" pipe which holds over 670 gallons; they can pump 50 gallons per minute, with over 13 minutes contact time, and at 1 ppm that meets or exceeds the CT of 6 to inactivate viruses from groundwater. |
