| Details: | I received an email alert from OHA DWS at 2:19PM on 10/22/18 stating that Silver Falls Country Store's routine sample was found to be total coliform positive. I crafted an email and sent it to the water system notifying them of the positive result and required response. I spoke with Junay, one of the store owners, on 10/23 by phone. It became clear that she would not be able to deliver repeat samples to her lab 10/23 but was confident she could get them there by 10/24. She does not have sufficient bottles on site for a all three repeats and the source sample. She needs to drive a two hour round trip to get more bottles, and a two hour round trip to return the samples. Today she has no extra help at the store and can't afford to close for the four hours. Waterlab was contacted and stated that they do not have any technicians in the area with extra sample bottles. I have asked that she continue with her plans to sample the morning of 10/24 and deliver the samples that same day. I have sent her a sampling technique handout and we have discussed the coliform sampling plan that is in her store's water system folder. |
