Details: Emailed Bill and John Gastineau with Young Life about the high TTHM sample collected in July. I informed them that compliance is based on the LRAA calculated as 0.076 mg/L which is below the MCL of 0.08 mg/L. The OEL calculated at 0.086 mg/L exceeded the MCL and triggers an evaluation. A link to online resources were provided. The OEL report is to be submitted by November 1, 2022.


Update: John emailed the OEL report on 10/26 that described continued work toward a pretreatment solution to reduce DBP formation caused by DOC/TOC in source water. Proposed options include adding an inclined plate clarifier before existing membrane filters, and adding GAC after filters before chlorination. In the coming months, this project will be detailed and efforts made to secure funding.

Follow up and review progress in Spring 2023.
