Details: | On 10/17/2022, Jim Oswald called me and we spoke about City of Prescott's current status regarding Arsenic results. A recent arsenic sample result met the MCL of .010 mg/L. Jim says he spoke with Casey Lyon from Oregon Drinking Water Services, who told him that the sample result at .010 mg/L technically passes, as it is virtually exactly at the AL (action level) for arsenic but doesn't exceed it at .0105 or higher, which would round up to an alert. Jim says that they changed the chlorine residual injection to help remove arsenic more effectively before going through the filters. He added until they can do further maintenance on the water system, they will be changing the media on the filters. City of Prescott's water system operations are largely covered by McMullen Water but Jim was interested in completing the Small Water Operator Training Course, to be certified as an operator for a water system the size of City of Prescott, so I emailed him the schedule for both in person and online courses. |
