Details: | I spoke with Robert Trotter regarding McNulty Water PUD's recent water sample result exceeding the MCL for Arsenic. Robert claims that their arsenic treatment system, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) zone and Robinette Well were shut off from the system on November 11, 2022 and are not currently used at this time. The sample was collected because the system was due for a Quarterly arsenic sample at EP-D for ASR Robinette Well. Part of why that source was shut off from the system at that time was so it could be winterized so it didn't freeze. The treatment system was then de-winterized. When the sample was collected, according to Trotter, who added that the ASR/Robinette Well is isolated or shut off from the water system in Winter months, and planned to only being used in the Spring through Fall months, i.e. April to October range. Trotter added that he plans on collecting water samples located before and after treatment at the Robinette Well/ASR zone, to ensure effectiveness of the arsenic treatment system prior to putting that source back online. I emailed Robert and Shannon a copy of the Public Notice template to be used in the event of an arsenic exceeding water result, for future reference. |
